The World Happiness report was released in late March of this year. They found that people in the US aRe Happier in 2022. This is at a time with the Stress Report shows that Stress is at a high currently due to multiple factors. In case you missed it, happiness can be a strong factor in mitigating stress. In 2021, the U.S. was ranked as the 19th happiest country in the world, Fox News Digital reported at the time. This year, the U.S. is ranked as the 16th happiest country in the world out of 146 countries.
This marks the tenth year of the World Happiness Report which was started to try to increase global well-being. The editors of the report are even more motivated during these times of pandemic, inflation, and war to pursue that goal. What they have found is that
“social support, generosity to one another, and honesty in government are crucial for well-being.”
Researchers also have found that “benevolence and trust” have “contributed to well-being during the pandemic.”
So to sum up, happy people are more benevolent and more focused on helping others than on their own problems. The study also seems to show that kindness and honesty and compassion towards others helps to build community, as well, as improve communities at time of great stress or crisis like the global pandemic. In short, Halliwell stated,
“people respond to help others in need, creating in the process more happiness for the beneficiaries, good examples for others to follow, and better lives for themselves,” Helliwell added.”
